Natural Health Consultant Returns to the Gulf Coast

Romana Shires

Naturopathic doctor Ramona Shires, a longtime resident of Pensacola, recently returned to the area to open White Sands Natural Health, where she uses holistic assessments and natural therapies to help her clients restore their health. She sees patients of all ages, both for general wellness and for her specialties, chronic pain and inflammation, chronic illness and oncology support.

“Too often we address the symptoms of a disease without looking for the root cause,” Shires says. “At White Sands Natural Health, we apply the naturopathic approach to health to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment this inherent self-healing process.” Among the services and natural therapies Shires offers are nutrition and lifestyle counseling, botanical medicine, homeopathy, vitamins and minerals, hypnotherapy, biotherapy and energy medicine.

“My passion is educating, empowering and supporting families on their journey to optimal health,” she says. “I take my time with my patients, listening carefully and then developing individualized recommendations that will address the root cause of disease promoting lifelong wellness.”

Shires earned her doctorate in naturopathic medicine at National University of Health Sciences, founded in 1906. A four-year, full-time, in-residence, accredited naturopathic medical school, “it sets the standard of training for careers in health care and integrative medicine,” she says. Shires is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the professional organization representing naturopathic physicians in the United States.
