Pure Pilates of Downtown Pensacola and Gulf Breeze will celebrate Pilates Day, May 5, by offering free 30-minute classes from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by free 30-minute private sessions from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The schedule includes Aerial Yoga, MOTR, Pilates Equipment, Pilates Mat, TRX, Gyrokinesis, Yogalates and Ballet Fusion.

Communities around the world celebrate Pilates Day every year on the first Saturday of May, says Susan Clark, who owns and operates both studios. “The Pilates Day mission is to foster the public’s appreciation and awareness of the Pilates Method through a network of varied, innovative and high-quality grassroots Pilates events that are accessible and affordable for all,” she says. Pilates Day is a program of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), and Pilates Day events are produced and hosted by PMA members.

At Pure Pilates, the Pilates Day classes and privates will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with preregistration opening on April 30. Classes and privates are complimentary with a donation to the Pensacola Humane Society. (A wish list can be found online at PurePilatesPensacola.com/PilatesDay.) Monetary donations for the Pensacola Humane Society will also be accepted.

“Our Pilates Day event is open to the public, and we encouraged everyone to attend and enjoy the celebration,” Clark says. “We’ll also offer special discounts on fitness packages and fitness apparel in celebration of Pilates Day.”

Pure Pilates is located at 426 South Palafox, Pensacola, FL. For more information, call 850-607-2772 or visit PurePilatesPensacola.com.
